Reading de Chirico

13 March 2018 - 31 March 2018

Tornabuoni Art Paris is pleased to present the singular show Reading de Chirico, for one month only.

This exhibition — nine years after de Chirico’s last retrospective in France at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la ville de Paris — is an unprecedented opportunity to explore in a new and original way the enigmatic world of Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978): a controversial and influential artist, forerunner of the surrealists and the scuola metafisica, whose works are among the most iconic of Italian 20th century art. However, few know about the artist’s prolific literary legacy.

The exhibition shows over 25 works spanning the artist’s entire career, alongside original manuscripts — art criticism, poems, prose and love letters — that offer unique insight into the pictorial world of Giorgio de Chirico, through his own words.
