Figures, Gestures and Substances,
25 chosen artworks from 1950 to Today

After its inaugural Lucio Fontanna solo show, the Tornabuoni Art gallery is proud to present from Saturday 12 of December until Saturday 13 of March 2010, a new exhibition « Figures Gestures and

Substances: an itinerary through 25 pieces chosen from the 1950 until today.

This show brings together selected works of different artists from the postwar onwards, through paintings with Picasso, Appel, Fontana, Vedova, Arman, Tapies, and also with sculptures of Pomodoro, Ceroli and Atchugarry The entirety of the chosen works shows the linguistic prosperity characterising the research of the main avant-gardes recognised on the post war international plan.

The show has been put together to confront works from a large geographic and temporal spectre, to create a dialogue between those, to show that through multiple and different languages, one can reveal a conductive axis between the works, because of these three key themes, finally common to the artists, but each time treated from a very personal manner.
